My Food/Travel Saga started on the express highway from Hebbal to International airport Kempegowda International Airport, Bengeluru I reached the airport in 20 minutes. The express high way has truly changed the travel experience, for many people who are in a rush.
If I/we travel, we normally tend to plan ahead of time to reach the airport in time many parts of Bengaluru has Chock a Block traffic, burdened with packing and then scheduling a route, to reach in time leads many of us tend to skip a meal, its always the hunger pangs during travel. The Kerbside food chains at the Kempegowda International Airport,Bengaluru is a boon to many of us, they surely serve up some fresh and yummy delights on a budget.
Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru is considered the 4th busiest airport in India, in terms of the high volume of travellers and air traffic. The Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru is a destination to visit even if you don't have a flight to board, just take those long yet relaxing drive and visit the modern and impressive most appreciated architecture in Bengaluru.
Its been a while, since I last travelled to any place. I along with few bloggers, was invited to the bloggers table, and was totally excited with the invite. I jumped on board to see the transformation on the kerb. Years back Cafe Coffee Day was the only joint serving up some sandwiches, milkshakes and coffee, satisfied with what ever available, I used to board my flight.
Its a change for good I was happy and most certainly looking forward to dine at all these well know food chains, from Cafe Noir to Chaipoint, Maiyas to Subway, Haati Kaapi to Kaatizone all these multi cuisine takeaways, are open round the clock. The 24hrs tight security makes the experience, not only secure, but also comfortable. the ample seating arrangements, at every food chain is one of a kind experience apart from savouring the best treats. Its fun to sit and watch people rush to board their flights, when you dont have one to board the vibe is great!
We totally enjoyed the company of NEWS 9 the Crew followed us and interviewed every blogger watch the video...
Chow Chow Baath is nothing but a spicy upma served along with sweet kesari. both the dishes are prepared with semolina the spicy version is tempered with mustard chilles and asafoetida then cooked veggies are added followed by semolina all of this is cooked with only ghee and the sweet version contains pineapple, sugar and ghee. Every bite of this yummy combo was a melt in the mouth moment.
After Finishing our chow chow bath we were served bisibelebaath every Kannadigas favourite dish. Rice and dhal cooked to mushy consistency, along with spices and veggies, the onion tempering at the end gives a finishing touch to this dish, its always served with kara boondi. The veggies were perfectly cooked and the spices were were well blended, I totally enjoyed this meal. Just a portion of bisibelebaath will surely fill you up and prepare you, for the longest travel.
After a wonderful breakfast we headed towards Hatti kaapi. At Haati Kaapi they serve wonderful chikmagaluru Kaapi, the blend is perfect and has the traditional topped with froth. They also serve iyengar biscuits. coffee is only 15/- per serving.
After all the chats and laughs at haati Kaapi, we stepped at KaatiZone if I travel I personally feel comfortable to eat a roti in a roll for lunch and dinner, its healthy meal on a budget. I was told that Kaatizone takes pre orders just call 080-65697771/2 for your favourite kaati roll they will have it ready for you the moment your step out of your flight this way you dont have to wait in the Queue. It was also a big surprise to see many foodchains have a separate section for jain food.
Next stop was at Chai Point I always love this lemon chai, while travelling it not only helps in digestion, but also stops the nausea feeling while travelling . At chai point they serve awesome masala chai to cranberry chai on a budget. They've also launched the chai flask where in you can carry some chai on your travel can also pick some of your favourite chai to carry home the flask is insulated well, and can hold upto 5 servings.
Do watch my video review on Cafe Noir...
Finally after all this activity, we stepped into Cafe Noir for lunch they served us wonderful Italian and French dishes. I'd ordered for Carbonara and Chicken Lasagna, along with virgin mojito, the lunch was quite delightful. I truly enjoyed my carbonara and felt the chicken in lasagna was a tad bit dry, other wise the food was awesome and enjoyed every bit.
Cafe Noir also served us their specials like Strawberry Pastry, Rice pudding, Caramel Tart and Chocolate Mousse...
I will not be rating the food on this review because the food was just spectacular for an airport, just think out of the box, pick Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru as your next destination with family and friends, and take a long drive and relax, enjoy the food and vibe its worth every penny.
