Four New Flavors From Maggi #Maggimasalasofindia

Last week when maggi launched four new limited edition flavors Amritsari Achari, Super Chennai, Bengali Jaal and Mumbaiya Chataka was really excited and looking forward to taste all four noodles at the launch party and masterclass.

When it comes to maggi I'm a huge fan of this brand. We regularly prepare maggi noodles, use stock cubes, masalas and soups and have already posted so many recipes using maggi noodles and maggi products.

Why masalas of India?
India is so richly diverse, a land of countless cultures, festivals, languages & above all many cuisines. Each with its own signature created by use of unique herbs & spices particular to its region. Inspired by this culinary diversity, MAGGI has created this special range of Masala Noodles, aptly christened MAGGI Masalas of India so you get to explore flavours from across the country, in just 2 minutes.

Chef Zaheer Khan created one fusion and one traditional recipe using mumbaiya chataka noodles and bengali jaal noodles. The first dish chef prepared was teriyaki chicken with mumbaiya-chataka-noodles and Spicy Bengali jaal.

What caught my attention was all four noodles are vegetarian its whole wheat noodles and limited edition. Chef Zaheer said its a complete meal when cooked and served with chicken and vegetables.

Amritsari Achari Masala Noodles is packed with pickle spices for a tangy Achari experience. Spices like coriander, cumin, kalonji and red chilli enhance the flavor and taste of this noodles.

Bengali Jhaal Masala Noodles contains Panch Phoran which is a mix of 5 different spices widely used in every Bengali's kitchen to season many dishes specially fish curries and mutton curry.

Mumbaiya Chatak Masala Noodles contains spices like cloves, kasuri methi, star anise and cinnamon. This spice blend is widely used in mumbai for masala bath a rice dish and pav bhaji.

Super Chennai Masala Noodles has a distinct flavor of sambar powder, mustard seeds and curry leaves which is seasoned to prepared vegetable curries and one pot rice based porridge recipes.

Price of each Pack: Rs.20/- for 73g
Available across all local stores, groceries and online stores in India.

Chilly Basil Lemonade (Sabja Nimbu Shikanji)

Sweet basil is widely used in thai cuisine. In India its referred as Sabja. The leaves and seeds of sabja is widely used in ayurvedic medicines. For generations grandmothers and mothers have been using the leaves and seeds in herbal tea or soups.

One can find the sabja seeds in super markets or local shops selling them in different names such as Falooda seed or also known as Turkmaria seeds, it is also said these seeds are rich in antioxidants, helps in controlling diabetes and is also good for your skin.

These sabja seeds are hard to chew, so do not consume them raw. It’s best to soak them in water or lemonade before consuming, which makes them more gelatinous. It is recommended to have at least two teaspoons of sabja seeds every day.

Basil seeds and leaves are one of the best body coolants. They are known to lower your body heat, which is why people often add them to refreshing drinks like nimbu paani, sherbets or milkshakes.

Street vendors in Southindia prepare this lemonade/kulukki with different flavors we can add natural pineapple juice, pomegranate or orange juice to the basic chilly lemonade a serve it. This basil lemonade pairs well with grilled meats and fried chicken or fritters.
