I was one among few bloggers to taste the sinful delights @Cafe Coffee Day. The special Valentine Lip Lock Menu will incorporate the most indulgent items on the menu. Being a resident of sahakarnagar I'm really happy to have a coffee day right next-door. We always keep going there for cappuccino and Oreo shake. This time cafe coffee day Invited me to taste their Lip Lock new menu. The menu features wonderful dessert coffee shakes and more. What we ordered and totally fell in love was the Devils Own, Dazzle Brownie, Masala Chai Latte, Cappuccino, Smoked Chicken Sandwich, Chilly Toastizza, Chicken Roll and Sizzling Brownie. 

I along with my Dad headed to the cafe around 8 PM the ambience was quite and not many people surrounding us we practically had the entire place to ourselves. this branch closes early around 9 itself.  

Devils Own

Devils Own is a dessert Drink served in a tall tumbler the drink is layered with cafe coffee day special coffee ice cream brownie and almonds the crunchy almonds adds to the flavor and taste this drink is a complete meal on its own loved it.

Dazzle Brownie is again a dessert drink which is served in a tall tumbler the drink is prepared with vanilla ice cream cafe coffee day brownie cakes coffee and chocolate syrup this was totally yum the chunks of brownie taste so dam good I've had the drink before in many places but cafe coffee day nailed this drink .

Chai Latte

Dad being a huge chai fan he totally enjoyed the creamy masala chai the tea is spiced with ginger cinnamon cardamom and special chai blend once the chai is steeped cream is added and frothy chai is served hot.

I dont have to explain more about the cappuccino its everybody's favorite drink at cafe coffee day. after drinking a whole bunch of coffee our  meal order started. Smoked chicken sandwich is must try and we wanted second helping a well seasoned and spicy bun base is stuffed with BBQ shredded chicken and chopped veggies like lettuce onion and shredded carrots the base has a spread of mayo this was one of our favorites and we totally loved the flavor this is something we would want to try and order again.

Chilli Cheese Toastizza...

I've never tried rolls at coffee day before the Chicken roll was super its a lacha paratha layered with egg curried chicken and veggies the roll is bit pricy but worth a try.

Cheese toast is always my favorite at cafe coffee day a soft yet crunch bun base is loaded with cheese mustard and topped with bell pepper and chillies its them browlied in oven and served hot the gooey cheese is super tasty with cappuccino i always order this combo.

finally we were full but after we saw the sizzling brownie it was visually appealing and so dam tasty we totally enjoyed the visit at cafe coffee day.

Romantic Poolside Dining-Whitesmoke Barbeque @Fairfeild By Marriott Rajajinagar Bengaluru

Fairfeild By Marriott recently launched Rooftop Poolside Dining Restaurant called White Smoke Barbecue. Chef Ajeet has tastefully put togeather a menu which consists of Organic veggie salads, soups, cheese from across the globe and yummy grilled pizzas.

The Poolside dinning will surely be a romantic and calming experience they take only 50 bookings on every week end. The ambience is calming and so soothing we are in the heart of city yet cut off from the hustle and bustle. 

The Grills are loaded with aromatic woods to flavor the meats and veggies as per the order. what I really liked and appreciated was every dish served was not overly spiced or overly smoked the taste was well balanced. 

What I also like was the menu which was chalked over washed wood planks the grill menu is broken into 4 parts first we have the protein,  rubs,  sauces and accompaniments which will be as per the order.  for example if you choose a haloumi cheese for salad the waiter will suggest the rub or you can choose the rub along with accompaniments and it will be grilled garnished and served as per your requirement what a wonderful way to choose a dish as per your taste buds.

We started with the chips and some wine as our conversations progressed chef amit invited us to the open kitchen and explained why the name white smoke barbecue and his sourced produce and so on after all of the interactive session and pointless conversations.  we headed back to our seats and started with seekhs... the air was filled with aromatic flavors this made me even more hungry...

Gosht Gilafi Seekh Kabab
Finely Minced Meat was marinated with classic indian garam masala skewer grilled in hot tandoor ovens the meat was succulent and was perfectly spiced the ghee smeared over the meat added to the flavor and taste totally loved the mint chutney along with the seekhs..

Amuse Bouche
Goat cheese and feta were soften and well combined mildly spiced and set in molds just before serving toasted ragi(millet) was topped with a balsamic reduction and garnished with water cress and borage flower..the mousse was delicate loved the addition of ragi which is a staple and eaten by localities across Bengaluru on a daily basis.

Clam Soup..
I was expecting a clear soup but the chef amused me with the addition of rajma also know as red kidney beans which is again consumed across India the soup was super I only wished if it was a tad bit spicy. the sea food(clams, prawns and crab) were fresh was tossed with few herbs and grilled mildly the rajma beans were toasted on grills and then cooked to attain smoky flavors the innovation part was awesome and enjoyed the soup.

Halloumi Salad..
If you have a taste for salty cheese then go for this salad. Halloumi is a greek (cyprus) cheese this cheese is very similar to paneer it was grilled and tossed with dressing and organic veggies. I loved the cheese it only needed a bit of chilly and garlic to enhance the taste I totally loved the fresh salad and cheese.

Chicken in Grape and fennel seeds Compote
Chicken in grape and fennel seed compote served over a bed of asparagus and fluffy mash. the chicken was over cooked and the taste of this dish was lost it was suppose to be sweet tender filled with smoky flavors however it was not enjoyable as it was over cooked. normally when cooking chicken breast the meat is not juicy and tends to dry out fast on grills the timing is key to attain good flavors and taste.

Salmon Tikka..
Salmon tikka was super the flaky fish tasted yum with potato mash and some salad.  the tikka could have been bit spicy since the restaurant serves resident Expats the taste is balanced and tuned down as per the restaurants requirement... totally understandable this is my most favorite fusion dish...

Apple Martini
Apple martini was so refreshing after a wonderful meal relaxing cleansed my palette for dessert.

Red Raisin Pannacotta 
Red Rasin Pannacotta is a vanilla based creamy milk reduction perfectly set and garnish with glazed raisins...

Hats off to Chef Ajeet and team bringing back flavours and taste from local produce/ingredients and composing a wonderful menu is tough. Loved the creative side bit more tweaking here and there will surely refine few dishes. I totally enjoyed the company of my friends and food thank you so much for having me over @Fairfeild by marriott.

Easy Chocolate Fudge Recipe

Chocolate fudge is one of  my favorite dishes to prepare. Not many ingredients needed totally affordable and easy to prepare all that we need is two varieties of cooking chocolate, food colors and flavors.

While preparing this fudge I found out that liquid food coloring tends to turn the texture of the chocolate its best to use powder or gel based food color for this recipe. As far as flavors add oil based flavors for all chocolate dishes watery or liquid based flavors tends to thin and covert the chocolate base. However the only water based flavor suitable to use in chocolate is vanilla this is all done on my personal research.

I also recycled and reused chocolate box for presentation just covered with fancy paper created a bow out of a ribbon which I already had. this DIY costed me only 300/- which is in my budget I'll share this chocolate fudge among 4 friends and neighbors for Valentines day. these chocolates store very well in the fridge when placed inside airtight container.

2 Cups Cooking Grade White Chocolate is roughly about 250 Grams.
1 Cup Cooking Grade Milk or Dark Chocolate is 125 Grams
4 Tbsp Condensed Milk
4 Tbsp Fresh Cream
4 to 5 Drops Vanilla or Orange Flavor
1 to 1 1/2 Tsp Food Color Orange and Cherry Red

Chopped Nuts and Cherry can also be used in fudge it enhances the taste and texture.

  • In a Micro Safe bowl add the chopped chocolate, condensed milk and cream place it the microwave for 30 seconds stir and place it back in the microwave for 30 seconds in 1 1/2 minutes the chocolate should've melted and combined well with the cream and condensed milk.
  • If you do not have a microwave this fudge can be prepared on stove place a nonstick kadai on low flame add chocolate condensed milk and cream constantly keep stirring and melt the chocolate once the chocolate melts the fudge is done remove from flame and transfer in a different bowl to stop cooking further.
  • Divided the chocolate fudge in two portions add the desired flavors and color stir and mix well.
  • Line a square tupperware container or plate which you want to set the fudge in pour the fudge into the lined container and allow to set in the fridge over night.
  • Once the fudge is set remove from fridge cut into desired shapes and freeze it for 2 to 3 hours this step is really important if we dip the fudge in hot milk chocolate it will not melt and will retain its shape.
  • Cover a plate with foil and set aside once the fudge is coated with chocolate we need to place it on the plate for it to set.
  • Melt the chocolate in the micro wave in every 30 second intervals or use a double boiler to melt the chocolate once the chocolate is melted remove the fudge from the fridge and dip in chocolate tap and remove excess chocolate out and place it back in the fridge to set.
  • Once set the fudge can be stored in a air tight container and served when ever desired...Wishing every one a very sweet and Happy Valentines...Happy Cooking...:)

Breathtaking and Dazzling BON6

I was experimenting few dishes for the blog was in no mood as both the dishes flopped a bit... hey that's part of being a foodblogger. Totally depressed was surfing the net for ideas just then I received a call from the courier office asking me if i was at home as they have mystery box just for me Surprised and Shocked was eagerly waiting for my box in 10 minutes the courier guy came over and dropped the mystery box my anxiety grew every second wanted to see whats all this about...

Once i opened the package the irresistible coco colored sleek and mode looking Bon6 is exactly what I was looking for the crisp exterior with  breathtaking, dazzling, eye catching features was so hooked... #BonTheOriginal

Pizza Festival @CAFE MANGII Orion mall Bengaluru

This is my kinda festival totally enjoyed the ambiance, food and company. Cafe Mangii is located on the 3rd floor of Orion Mall Bengaluru. The staff is friendly and the service was awesome. The Ambiance over looks a wonderful water feature at the mall this space is designed for outdoor seating(alfresco) causal dinning is really inviting and comfortable.

We were hooked to the wood fired oven where the chef was creating wonderful pizzas for us. Excited with all the action none of us even bothered to sit rather stood near to the oven and ate all the pizzas once baked. we started with the Minestrone soup which was packed with veggies and pasta in a tomato broth it was flavorful and very tasty.

Buffalo Chicken Wings...
After tasting wonderful soup we enjoyed the buffalo chicken wings, mezze platter and garlic butter prawns. the chicken was spicy meaty and very juicy perfect starter. The mezze platter was a complete meal by itself the peta breads are freshly baked and served with hummus falafel and cous cous its really healthy as well this platter will surely fill 3 people. garlic butter prawns were perfectly cooked not rubbery this platter was packed with flavors.

Apart for pastas and pizza they also serve cheese fondue burgers and so on the dishes were prepared for the customers I happen to take a click of these dishes just before service...lucky me...:P

Watermelon and Feta Salad..
Once were were done with the starter the salads started to roll first up was Feta and watermelon salad few details were over looked in this salad the fruit needed to be pitted before adding to the salad but i totally enjoyed the fresh greens dressing and cheese this is a classic summer salad.

Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad...
Since we were in a very large group we got to taste everything after the watermelon and feta salad we had the chicken Caesar salad peppery grilled chicken was tossed with romaine lettuce croutons and parma cheese  was perfect and filling.

Once we were done with the salads the pizzas were prepared and we totally enjoyed every single bite...

The Big Fat Greek Pizza
Big Fat Greek Pizza is prepared with (mozzarella and feta cheese, black olives, red onions, basil and oregano) this was very close to a classic margarita pizza...I enjoyed the fresh basil and feta which was topped on this pizza well presented packed with fresh flavors...

Gringo chilly pizza..
Gringo Chilli is prepared with delicious mozzarella cheese, beans, jalapenos, cilantro, sundried tomatoes topped with sour cream and salsa  this pizza is tangy spicy and packed with mixicano flavors.

The French Connection...
The french connection pizza is prepared with alfredo Sauce which is a cheesy sauce topped with spinach, corn, potato, exotic herbs & gourmet cheese...

Desi Pizza...
Desi Pizza was really innovative the pizza was topped with makhani sauce grilled tandoori paneer pickled onion and gourmet cheese was so tasty packed with classic flavors...

Peri Peri Chicken Pizza...
 chicken morsels marinated in peri peri rub then grilled to perfection was topped on top of a ragu sauce pizza thinly slivered jalapenos added to the flavor and taste this spicy pizza tops my favs chart..I totally enjoyed the grilled flavors and taste in this pizza...

Trip To Hollywood...
Trip to Hollywood was again a wonderfully designed pizza topped with sautéed mushrooms, chicken ham, salami Milano, caramalised onions and the signature smoked cherry tomato sauce...

Singaporean Merlion Pizza...
Singaporean Merlion is prepared with (Garlic tossed calamari, grilled fish shreds, red onions, cherry tomatoes and roasted garlic), the fresh seafood was yum in this pizza..

Spice Girl..
Spice girl was a mojito like refreshing drink...

Calzone Carneltini...
Calzone Carneltini is stuffed pizza with chicken ham salami, smoked ham, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, ricotta mushrooms and caramelized onions...

Fusilli Mamarosa...
This Pasta was perfectly cooked tossed in tomato ragu  and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese..

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is a simple Italian dish of garlic, olive oil, parsley, and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese tossed with cooked pasta.

After tasting those yummy pizzas and paste none of us were ready for desserts we were all done but the waiter insisted that we were missing something special people folk to their restaurant for the bailey and brownie he was so true the desserts served to us were so good I only wished never ate so much and had some space left for desserts...

Cafe Mangii is worth a visit and value for money I totally recommend you dine here when at orion mall. my picks are peri peri chicken pizza, gringo chilly, Calzone Carneltini , Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, bailey and brownie...Must try drinks Brownie shake.
