The Vada batter was sightly watery and very difficult to remove from the packet. Otherwise we enjoyed the vadas. This batter is not salted we will have to add salt as per taste and also add onion chilly masala , onion and coriander.

Best for people who want to prepare vadas in a jiffy on a special occasions.

Karandi Appam Using FarmztoFamiliez Appam Batter


Karandi in Tamil means ladle, I used for tadka spoon/ladle which is available in the market. Use a nonstick tadka ladle to prepare these cute karandi appam. We can serve appam with chutney, stew, coconutmilk or sunny sideup eggs.

 We have to adjust salt and water in the appam batter as per  choice. Appam turned out to be a hit the batter was fluffy and very tasty served with coconut milk. It was light and easy to digest.


Method:
Heat the tadka ladle with few drops oil. Spread the oil using tissue paper and ladle the appam batter swril the ladle to form appam, cover and cook for a minute, once the appam edges turn light golden remove from flame using a sharp knife or a spoon scoop the appam and serve hot...Enjoy πŸ˜‹

Potato Rosti Using FarmztoFamiliez MultiGrain Batter


Potato Rosti can be prepared in a jiffy using left over dosa or idly batter. These mini potato pancakes are very filling, a complete meal on its own. we can serve these pancakes with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup. I've used multigrain batter from farmz to familiez.

Ingredients:
2 Grated Potatoes
1 Cup Miltigrain Batter
1/2 Cup Spring Onions
3 Tbsp Coriander Chopped
1 Inch Ginger Grated
3 Green Chilies Finely Chopped
Salt as per taste
Oil...


Method:
In a mixing bowl add the grated potato, chilies, ginger, spring onions, coriander, salt and batter mix well.

Heat a tawa ladle the batter add 2 tsp oil and fry for a minute on each side covered. Sefve these potato pancakes with chutney...Enjoy πŸ˜‹

Chilly Idli Using FarmztoFamiliez Idli/Dosa Batter


Chilly Idli is a wonderful weekend snack. I normally store all the left over idli in the freezer and prepare different variety of snacks using these leftovers Idlies.

Using their white batter, I prepared these chilly idlies it turned out so good crispy idli coated with spicy Indochinese masala was truly a treat for this monsoon. We can use shredded chicken or sausages as per choice.

This traditional rice batter is pre-fermented, was mildly salted, we have to dilute the batter according to our requirement. I was surprised with the results idly was soft and fluffy, even the dosas were crispy.


 Closer look at the idli served with sambar and chutney...


Ingredients:
5 to 6 Rice Idlies
1 Large Onion Chopped into Cubes
2 Large Bell Peppers Chopped into Cubes 
3 Tbsp Tomato Puree
1 Tbsp Green Chilly Paste
1 Tbsp Ginger and Garlic Paste
3 Green Chilies
2 Dried Red Chilies
2 Sprigs Curry Leaves
4 Tbsp Corn Flour
1/4 Tsp Garam Masala
1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tbsp Soya Sauce
1 Tsp Vinegar
1 Tbsp Chilly Powder
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying...


Method:
Use a day old Idly for this recipe. Start by chopping the idlies into equal bite size cubes and add to a mixing bowl.

Add corn flour and 4 tbsp water along with salt as per taste mix till the idlies are coated in the corn flour batter.

Heat oil in a wok for frying.

Gently drop the idly cubes one at a time fry in batches of 8 to 9 cubes until the idlies turn golden in color. Drain from oil and reserve on paper towels.


Heat a pan on medium flame add 3 tbsp oil. Once the oil is hot add chopped onion, curry leaves, green chilies, dried red chilies, ginger and garlic paste fry until the onion turn light pink in color.

Add bell peppers(capsicum), soya sauce, green chilly paste, garam masala, turmeric, chilly powder and tomato puree fry all the ingredients for a minute.

Add 3 tbps water and salt stir and allow the moisture to reduce. Once the oil surfaces on the masala add the fried idlies and toss garnish with coriander , mint, vinegar or lime juice... Serve hot...EnjoyπŸ˜‹

Savory Crepes USING FARMZTOFAMILIEZ MULTI-Grain Idli/Dosa Batter

Using their multigrain batter I prepared Savory crepes it turned out so good the outer crepe was crispy and holds all the ingredients inside without falling apart (Normally dosa batter tend to get soggy after filling anything inside it this multi grain batter remains crispy for a longer period and does not get soggy easily). We can prepare many variations using meats and veggies of choice.

Ingredients:
500 Grams Multi-Grain Batter
1/2 Cup Cabbage
3 Slices Chicken Salami
1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
1 Tomato Sliced
1 Bell Pepper/ Capsicum Cut into Thin Strips
3 Chilies Chopped
3 Button Mushroom Sliced
5 Sprigs Coriander
1/2 Cup Grated Cheddar Cheese
Paprika and Salt as per taste
Oil as required...


Method:
Heat a tawa or pan with 2 tbsp oil, Once the oil is hot add sliced onion, salami and mushrooms with 1/2 tsp paprika and salt as per taste fry for a minute or until the mushroom soften a bit and onions turn pink in color. Reserve the onion and mushrooms in a bowl.


Heat a tawa on medium flame season tawa with few drops oil to prepare crepes, Ladle the batter and spread to form a thin crepe, gently pour 1 tsp oil all over the crepe cover and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame. Once the dosa or crepe has cooked flip it to other side and cook for another 2 more minutes. 


Once the crepe has evenly cooked place the tawa on low flame start to fill the crepe with a layer of cheese followed by veggies and meat top with tomato and cabbage roll to form a crepe and serve hot...Enjoy πŸ˜‹

Ingredients:
5 Multi Millet Idlies
5 Slices Cucumber
5 Slices Onion
5 Slices Tomato
5 Slices Boiled Potato 
2 Tbsp Cheese Spread
3 Slices Cheese Slices
3 to 4 Slices Chicken Salami (Optional)
Paprikka Powder
Salt as per taste
2 Tbsp Oil


Method:
Heat a tawa with 2 tbsp oil roast the potato and salami for a minute on each side, while roasting sprinkle paprika and salt as per taste and reserve the potato and salami.

Slice the idly in the center, we can preheat idly for 1 minute in the microwave just before preparing sandwiches.

Evenly spread the cheese spread on both sides of the sliced idly or also we can use mint or coconut chutney to prepare this recipe.

Start layering with slices of cucumber, onion, cheese, tomato and roasted potato cover with the other half of the idly and serve right away...Enjoy πŸ˜€
