Cafe Coffee Day Inspired - Tropical Iceberg Coffee Recipe

I'm recreating and updating few blogs from the past. Tropical iceberg coffee is a popular and most viewed blog post from 2011. Here is my Old Post Link. For this recipe I'm using Filta Fresh Coffee from Cafe Coffee Day.
Filta Fresh Coffee comes in individually vacuum sealed packet. The coffee is potent with 90% coffee and 10% Chicory. Easy to follow instructions just takes 3 steps to prepare filter coffee. I came across this filta fresh coffee at The Serai resorts chikamagaluru.
Filta Coffee sachets are priced at 20/- per pack and for a entire box is 137/- on Amazon. This sachets are very handy when travelling and makes are great gift for people who travel a lot.

Method to prepare the filta fresh coffee: Bring a cup of water to boil and reserve. Open the filta sachet and place the coffee in a cup there is a holder which can fit to the lip of a cup.

Moisten the coffee with hot water allow to brew for 20 seconds. Pour the hot water after 20 seconds allow the coffee to brew. Once the coffee has brewed I liked to place the filter in the brew for another minute to extract a stronger blend.
In this recipe you will notice I am combining all ingredients and freezing to form crystals then blending to form a rich drink. Normally at a cafe they add ice cubes to create a thick drink by the time we finish the drink it tends to water-down a lot and loose flavor and taste. Following my method you will have a rich drink till the end and it will not turn watery.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 Cups Filta Fresh Coffee or Follow my Filter Coffee Recipe Link
500 ML Milk + 2 Cups Milk
4 Tbsp Chocolate Syrup
3 Scoops Vanilla Icecream
2 Tbsp Sugar
2 Tbsp Coco Powder
Whipped Cream from a can or use whipping cream powder and pipe it on the coffee as a garnish...
Method:
We normally boil the milk allow it to cool and then place it in fridge and use as required. Since Bangalore has a tropical climate the weather changes from cold to rainy and sunny the milk we buy tends to split and this is the only way to store it.

In a mixing bowl combine the filta coffee, coco-powder, vanilla icecream and 3 tbsp of chocolate syrup whisk well. combine milk (room temp milk or cold milk) slowly whisk cover and place in freezer for 6 to 8 hours this we need the mixture to form crystals.

Once the mixture forms ice crystals add 4 scoops of coffee mixture to a mixer-jar along with 1/2 cup milk, 2 tbsp sugar blend well to form a smoothie.
Decorate a tall tumbler with chocolate syrup pour the prepared smoothie to the tumbler top with whipping cream and garnish with chocolate syrup serve right away...Enjoy 😊

Nutmeg Infused Cold Pressed Coffee Recipe (Coffee Juice)

If you haven’t tried cold brew or cold pressed coffee yet, you’re missing out. The flavor is delightfully smooth compared to the taste of your usual cup, and it packs more than enough of a caffeinated kick to get you going in the morning. I have come across many articles and recipes for cold pressed coffee but never really got to taste it before, until my trip to The Serai Chikmangalur.

My day at, The Serai started with a refreshing nutmeg infused cold brew coffee. So what was on my to do list for blog, I had to recreate the recipe and share it with my lovely readers...
Lets start with, what is cold brewed Coffee? It’s a way of brewing coffee in cold water rather than the traditional method of using hot water.
Cold brew has a longer extraction process which gives it a few advantages over your typical cup of coffee. For one, it tastes a lot smoother. The familiar bite of hot brewed coffee is caused by fatty acids, which are left behind during the cold brewing process. This means it’s not only easier on your taste buds but on your stomach as well.

After brewing coffee grounds in cold water for a set amount of time (more on the ideal schedule later) you’re left with a tasty cold brew.

Your brew can be used as a base for many different drinks: hot, cold, iced, or in a cocktail! The versatility of cold brew is a true game-changer in how you consume your daily dose of coffee. cold brew can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

We can always dilute the coffee as per taste preference and use accordingly. Since we do not use sugar at home regularly, I've used date syrup and honey, we can also use diet sugar or palm sugar as per preference.

To prepare this cold brewed coffee I've used 100% coffee by coffeeday. Mysore Royal: a premium coffee powder with flavors of bitter chocolate and caramel with whisper of rich fruit, with flecks of sweetness makes you feel like royalty .This is not an instant coffee.

10 Tbsp 100% Coffee
1/4 Cup Honey or Date Syrup or 10 Tbsp Sugar or Diet Sugar.
1 Tbsp Grated Nutmeg
2 Litre Cold Water

We also need a glass jug or glass bottle for brewing...

Method:
Measure 10 Tbsp Coffee reserve.
Grate the nutmeg using a cheese grater reserve.
In a glass jug pour the coffee and nutmeg top with cold water close with tight lid and refrigerate for 18 hours.
After 18 hours strain the coffee using a sieve.
Mix 1/4 cup honey or dates syrup in the coffee stir well...Serve chilled...Enjoy.

We can also use this cold brew coffee to prepare coffee based cocktails πŸ˜‰

"A Lot Can Happen Over Coffee". Popular Cafe Coffee Day Bengalureans favorite hangout destination on a budget be it business over coffee, hang out with friends or a romantic hangout space it has to be at CCD. Extending their Super new menu CCD has a lot to offer from humble soul satisfying soups to quick bites, burgers, sandwiches, rich and creamy dessert cakes.

We had few errands to run near new bel road on our way was cafe coffee day...me and dad wanted to stop over for quick bites and coffee. I ordered the tomato soup garlic bread and nachos...My dad opted for veg cutlet and cappuccino. I liked the soup...nachos had too much of hot sauce and very tart cream sauce on top this was some how not tasting right..veg cutlet had a crispy skin very bland patty. Over all the new menu has something for everyone. The only two dishes apart from coffee we enjoyed were the garlic bread and soup.

Service was good, Centrally located. Ample parking.
