#Piripirilicious Sunday Brunch @McDonald's Sahakarnagar Bengaluru

Re-Launch of Piri Piri Fries

I along with my friends and family visited the  McDonald's Sahakara Nagar Branch  for Sunday brunch. McDonald's is located on 490, 60 Feet Road, 20th Main, F Block, Sahakara Nagar, Bangalore.

This is the first time visiting the sahakarnagar branch normally when travelling for work I would always try and stop at kormangala or Indiranagar McDonald's so strange that have never been to the macdonalds located just 3kms from me.

The McDonald's Family Restaurant is a beautiful space for our tight niche community two level seating with pleather chairs and glass walls increasing the flow of natural light totally brightens the space Ambiance is hip and neatly maintained

As I'm writting this blog i was surfing on Mcdonald's Web page and found the nutritional value page quite surprised with the charts given there please click here  and the nutritional PDF Chart if you also want to see what goes into the Mcdonald's burger. I've been a regular customer at McDonald's  never really paid attention when a burger is called as junk food and will never call food as junk as I consider food one step close to god and as a food blogger I've always respected and enjoyed food.

Once we settled down we placed our order of 3 Mc Spicy Chicken Burgers, 2 Mc Chicken Twist Burgers and 1 Bag of Piri Piri Fries 9 Pieces Chicken Nuggets and 1 Coffee  Since it was winter we did not have any cold beverages or desserts for all this food it cost us only 945/-

Some of my favorites and family favorites at McDonald's are Spicy Mcchicken, Fillet O Fish Burger, Fries and Mcflurry...Mc recently relaunched the piri piri fries. I must say its truly an irresistible combination of spicy Piri Piri mix in French Fries as Mc says I can share love but not my fries #UnshareMyFries. Costs just 15/- great value for money get your own bag.

Pili Pili or Piri Piri is Birds Eye Chilly this chilly is cultivated through out South-African. World famous Piri Piri marinate/seasoning, is made from crushed chillies, citrus peel, onion, garlic, pepper, salt, lemon juice, bay leaves, paprika, pimiento, basil, oregano, and tarragon. this is an amazing seasoning I have an original sauce bottle shipped from africa and season all my meats and fish in this sauce it tangy and absolutely yummy. McDonalds has truly captured the taste and authenticity of this seasoning its perfect and absolutely yummy on fries I also sprinkled some of this spice mix on Chicken nuggets and we enjoyed every bit.

Mcspicy Chicken burger has always been my favorite and enjoyed every bit the breading is crunchy spicy and loaded with lettuce totally recommend you to try this if you've not tasted before.

McChicken twist the patty is topped with tomatoes, cheese and onion sauce and oregano seasoning and sandwiched in a corn meal dusted bun. I felt the patty could have been a bit more spicy as per Indian palate is truly a filling burger.

As far as the Chicken Nuggets we enjoyed every bite...and loved the mustard and BBQ Sauce.

Review- Khandani Rajdhani Indian Vegetarian Thali @Koramangala Bengaluru

Follow me on Zomato, Subscribe to me on Youtube English and Tamil

I along with my zomato buddy Neveen Suresh and his sweet wife visited Khandani Rajdhani Thali on chirstmas eve. We visited the newly opened rajdhani which is located at 7th block Koramangala Bengaluru. Naveen and I wanted to meet during dinner since we had a ton load of pre planned activities had to settle in for lunch.

I'd pre booked my table and good thing to do as it was a holiday many people thronging the place with out booking were sadly made to wait. We reached rajdhani by 1.30 pm the house was packed some were in large groups friends and family were celebrating right from Christmas to birthday the atmosphere was truly electrifying and wonderful.

This is my 3rd thali at rajdhani I've enjoyed their summer meal, diwali thali and now winter thali. It was tastefully put togeather by the chefs and management. Rajdhani is under the flagship of Mirah Hospitality. Rajdhani is spread across 11 locations with multiple outlets in each state Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nashik, Oman, Pune, Raipur,  Shirdi.

The Ambiance is very simple, seating is comfortable for a break there were no flashy colored walls distractive pictures or posters very sober and neatly maintained space. The thali was quite elaborate with almost 15 dishes. cuisine was rajasthani and party gujurathi. what i really liked was they had placed a printed menu in the entry way and 345/- for this elaborate thali was amazing deal.

Service was awesome I'm really impressed with the sign language they use entire staff is trained to use sign language. On the lighter note I personally felt i was in a baseball field where sign language is a must but at rajdhani it was a race for food between waiters and managers making sure they fill up all the katooris and hot pulkas served in time...these guys truly know how to treat their guests.

Complete Thali

The service started with Farsan which are starters.. Barsa dola, Dhokla , papdi chat and cheesy Khaman

Barsa dola was like a kachori the crispy skin and spicy stuffing along with pudina chutney and tomato chutney was really tasty. I liked my Dhokla with mirchi pickle it was quite spongy and very tasty. Papdi ki chat was bang on totally enjoyed..I've never tasted a cheese centered spicy Khaman before the taste and innovation was quite good.

After wonderful starters we were served Dhal Bati Churma the bati was quite rich as it was cooked on coals and then ghee it was crisp and very tasty along with the dhal all of it was washed down with chaas(buttermilk)

Then came the multiple sides for rotis, rice and Khichdi..starting with paneer maharaja, surthi undhiyo, aloo matar, tomato flower, 3 varieties of dhal, along with 2 kadhi

I loved the dhal the ghee ka tadka on dhal was amazing perfectly spiced and really tasty along with pulkas and methi thepla. Aloo matar had very less spice and did not enjoy this dish, tomato flower is nothing but cauliflower stir fried in spicy tomato sauce was quite bland and did not enjoy this side dish...maharaja paneer was tasty and very similar to butter paneer.

what i really enjoyed from the bread basket was the mini aloo ki parantha it was spiced to perfection and sort of deep fried in ghee amazing along with mirchi chutney.

surthi undhiyo is always been my favorite at all rajdhani outlets its prepared with 15 to 25 vegetable and greens and only served during winter this side dish is quite a treat for any vegetarian.

and finally desserts were moong ki halwa, semiya kheer, malpua with rabdi.. I had almost 3 servings of malpua it was so tasty the moong dhal halwa is very traditional sweet dish was rich and prepared to perfection...semiya kheer had no sweet in it was bit disappointing.

Farsan

Dhal Bati Churma

Close up Thali

Malpua

My 3 picks from the thali are Dhal Bati Churma, Aloo Parantha with Mirchi Pickle and Malpua with rabdi. I totally recommend visiting rajdhani atleast once its addictive tasty meal on a budget.

My Score: 4.5/5

Care4Food Tupperware Campaign

Care4Food is a campaign started by Tupperware. Care4Food is a platform that offers methods to take care of food at various levels right from buying, storing, preparation and leftover management. Food lovers can share their own experiences and practices of saving food and support this campaign to become a Food Savior.

Many of my foodblogging friends were writing on the same campaign. Hina Gujral from http://www.funfoodfrolic.com/ My most dearest friend referred me to the company and they contacted me, Care4Food sent me a wonderful Package containing 2-800ml cool and fresh refrigerator medium box, 1-Fridge smart box and 1-300ml Freezer mate box.

We have been using Tupperware for many years now I've personally hosted many events on Tupperware giveaway on my blogs and people who received my gifts have always enjoyed using my Tupperware gifts and appreciated my gifts.

All Tupperware products are made from safe, non-toxic, non-carcinogenic materials; thus they do not release harmful chemicals to food or liquid contents. Materials & Additives used exceed US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) & Japan Polyolefin Hygienic Association standards.

Tupperware as a product is on a mission in saving Mother Earth from further pollution and degradation as its products are designed for long term use (Life Time Warranty). On the other hand, plastic bags and bottles, Styrofoam containers and PET bottles are not made for repeated use, and thus adds to the mountain of garbage. Even food which is not stored properly ends up in unwanted landfills and pollutes the environment. Its a daunting task for our Indian government to solve the land fill issues as a Indian citizen we can help our Government and Environment in some ways by avoiding the purchase of unwanted plastic saving food in right way and minimizing waste be the change you wish to see the world in quoted by Mahatma is so true think what goes wrong in our system before blaming the government or any political party.

My Favorite Tupperware for Gifting
Slim lunch box set is my favorite stores a lot of food and can store in a handbag easily there is no spills what so ever while commuting.

Family Favorite Tupperware that we have purchased and love using all these years.

We store pretty much everything in these Tupperware containers from cakes to curries every thing can be frozen and used when needed wasting food is considered as a crime in my home. some leftovers like dhal and subzi is reheated and devoured on those no cook home cleaning days.

Mom is an expert when it comes to using up leftovers some tips i can give is there is always left over dhal try to convert it and prepare dhal soup or rasam it will be a hit. with left over curries and vegetable try to add extra onion and egg in little oil and toss in left over rice to prepare fried rice or smear it over dosa with little cheese and prepare a unique dosa kids will love such things as a snack. never throw away left over rice use it up to prepare fried rice lemon rice or tomato rice.

Use up leftover gravy to prepare kothu parota for a  tea time snack every one at home will love kothu. what i do with left over gravy is prepare stir fried chicken or paneer fry.  I also use the gravy in potato roast its super tasty and is an excellent side dish for sambar rice.

I also pre-plan my meals for some days, veggies like carrots beans and cabbage dont store for long in fridge normally what i do is prepare veggie masala for noodles and fried rice and store it in a tupper ware container freeze it and use when needed  these pre cooked meals comes so handy at times we have to go out and preparing dinner after coming back will be a sore for any one I would simply toss in some cooked pasta or noodles in these veggies and serve it hot.

Dosa and Idly batter store really well in Tupperware containers. In summers our fridge never seems to work properly and the souring heat ferments the batter really fast when stored in a steel utensil whereas the batter when store in a tupperware container will never ferment and will store perfectly.

If we tend to go out on long journey mom would normally prepare a large batch of subzi and chapati dough and store it in a tupperware container and place it in normal chill mode once we return from our journey we would always have hot roti and subzi. I remember once when we had been to chennai mom had prepared a very large batch of chicken biryani to take and store some in fridge we stored the required amount of biryani in a tupperware container and froze it and totally forgot about it upon returning from chennai mom and I were facing a large batch of laundry to be done with and were tired after all the travel it was almost 2 weeks of travel and mom was also looking at what was left in the fridge to prepare lunch and to our surprise the biryani was in perfect condition and truly saved our day these moments I will never forget.

Preparing Roti dough and storing it in tupperware under normal chill mode is a must in my home uber soft rotis are the result when prepared all i want to say is people who tend to travel or working preplan your weeks meal  ahead of time prepare and store the right way from sambar to chutneys every thing stores really well plus it saves your valuable energy and time folks.

Tupperware containers never stains I always wash with lukewarm water and a mild dish wash soap from pantry to my fridge everything is well organised and see through containers help us to see what is stored. I also stick a post it note on the container with date this way we are assured that the food should be used in 1 or 2 weeks from the day of preparation. If you meal plan post it notes really helps the family to located the container and use it for lunch or dinner if your not there.

REVIEW- JIVE GASTRO PUB @Indiranagar, Bengaluru

For recipe videos and review videos subscribe to me: Youtube English Youtube Tamil

Jive is located very close to ESI, Indiranagar, HAL 2nd stage. The Chefs had organized a Blogger/foodie lunch meet and greet. we were in a team of 12 and headed there for lunch I reached the venue at 1pm.

Jive is spread across 3 levels. The ground floor entrance has a take away bar, second level is getting ready for a chic lounge experience will be launched soon and the third level has a fully functioning very cosy pub. The pub area has that retro chic interiors neatly maintained with comfortable seating.

Once we settled down a bit and seated menu cards for the drinks and appetizers with placed, I started my order with Pinacolada, which is my all time favorite. The drink was perfectly prepared creamy and yum..we also tasted sex on the beach cocktail it was orangy tangy and refreshing.

We did not order anything on the menu and wanted the chef to surprise us. Right after the first round of drinks the lunch service started. For starters we enjoyed the salads, Nachos and tandoori dishes.

First came the potato cheese kurkure served with a spicy chutney the fluffy and spicy potatoes were wrapped in romali roti and deep fried was very tasty with chutney. next up was chicken and veg wantons with garlic chutney I preferred the chicken wanton was spicy the garlic chutney combo was good.

Next up was Cheese-balls with hollandaise sauce , chicken macau roll, Nachos and Stuffed Mushroom. I liked the stuffed mushroom and nachos with beer and was slowly getting in that pub mode..

The salads were also served along with starters which filled us up. chicken salad and grilled mixed veggie salad. I felt the grilled mixed veg salad had very less dressing whereas the chicken salad had too much dressing me being a salad person was not impressed with the salads...

we were still not done with the starters next came the tandoori items. Tandoori Paneer tikka, Bharwan Tangri Chicken and Zaffrani Cheesy Chicken with chutney. now this is what i call a pakka desi style pub ka khanna. I totally enjoyed the stuffing inside the chicken thigh with chutney. paneer was not rubbery both the dishes tasted yum. the chicken zaffrani had no flavors what so ever it needs bit more tweaking.

The portion size for starter are good great value for money.

Finally mains were served. Chicken biryani, Rogan Josh, Dhal Makhani, Butter Paneer and rotis.

I liked the biryani and rogan josh with tandoori naan.

For desserts we enjoyed the gajar ka halwa had perfect amount of sweet was tasty perfect for winter weather.
