Review-RedCooker Food Ordering App

RedCooker is a handy little food ordering app which was launched recently. They hosted us at their Kitchen/industrial venue which is located at whitefield-Bengaluru, for food tasting session. It was quite an experience for me getting to see the chefs in action and the delivery team rushing against time to deliver the food. The company has both home-made and gourmet offerings, on the same platform at an affordable price.

Rohan Patnaik,Amol Patil,Raghunandan B, Founders of Redcooker Food Ordering App.

The idea came about early this year, when the trio started aggregating housewives and started supplying meals to their friends (where the consumer had to pay for each meal everyday) and got insights into what is a“WOW” meal in the homemade food space.

After a lot of research and feed-back, consumer one-on-ones, the team realized that the consumers, along with homemade food, wanted to experiment with exotic gourmet cuisines as well and hence built a kitchen in Whitefield. RedCooker is now a skilled team of 25 members.

Along with supplying great food to consumers, RedCooker gives a platform to the home-cooks to discover themselves as entrepreneurs. The RedCooker app focuses on engaging with consumers and indicates to them nutritional content of each offering. The love for food and the passion of bringing great food, great packaging & great delivery under one roof drove the trio to come up with the concept Redcooker Food Ordering App..

Real time tracking of orders and personalization of food are two features that the RedCooker team is currently working on building. One can place an order by clicking on their website https://www.redcooker.com/Or downloading their app from bit.ly/get-rc . The app is available for download on Google Play for Android platform and will be soon available on the ios platform. Headquartered in Bangalore, the company plans to expand its operations to all the Metros and tier 1 cities in the next six months.

I got to taste a range of dishes from their menu...Chicken Salad, Crispy Fish Fingers with tartar sauce, herb roasted potatoes, pesto grilled basa fish, Chicken roll, Penne pasta, biryani, rogan josh and mattar malai with roti..They served us whatever was listed on the menu for the day... From this menu I will recommend the pesto fish, fish fingers and chicken salad. Its great they have given good thought and added healthy snacking, salads and so on, However I would like to see more snack options and desserts. Over all the dishes served to us tasted great.

The Ambiance: A warm, casual space. Ample and comfortable seating. Centrally air conditioned. with eccentric decor, with a mix of  tables and sofas, and a stage ready-made for live performance and DJ sets, The Beer Cafe manages to be both a popular community pub and a party venue worth travelling to. Its is a laid-back lounge bar. Creating an interactive space for the young and old. I totally envy the residents of indiranagar they have a wonderful space to windup, with family and friends...

The Food: a mix of pub classics, beer batter onion rings, corn bhel, jalapeno cheese balls, seekhs, kholiwada, sharable platters, and the list goes on, you’re guaranteed to find something to tickle the taste buds. Both the vegetarians and non-vegetarians are spoilt with the extensive menu...

When The Beer Cafe hosted me and dad I was so glad to spend quality time with him. We had the entire space for our self's, the staff were really friendly..service was quick.  Few pointers to note the space gets crowded during weekends and after 8pm everyday.

We chose sharable platter with lager(peroni) and ordered the hungry tide the platter consisted of spicy BBQ chicken wings, fish fingers, chicken fingers, potato skins stuffed with chicken corn and cheese served along with salsa and tartar sauce. The light and crisp beer complimented with all the starters.

After few beers we ordered Burraaah a non vegetarian platter with Calcutta chilly chicken, mutton seekhs, cheese balls and batter fried chicken called kholiwada.

We were pretty much full at this point I still was tempted to try their chicken biryani and thin crust pizza. The mains were paired with Laffe and King Fisher beer. I personally liked the combination of laffe this rich creamy beer paired with spicy food was bang on.

For dessert we had hot fudge chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Overall yummy pub food at an affordable price point.

Licious Chefs Table @Slurp Studio Indiranagar Bengaluru

Licious delivers fresh meats and fish to your door step...How does that sound?? Quite intriguing!! The newly launched meat delivery brand Licious invited me for a cookout at the slurp studio Indiranagar, Bengaluru. More than the cookout I was curious, to see the meat quality, and what they had to offer...

I'm a person who loves market walks, and bargains. when ever it comes to shopping for meat, the local butcher's here in bangalore do not give what ever cut you want, they charge regular price for all the cuts. And there are days when I cannot do this market rounds, since I tend to travel a lot. And there are days, when we have unexpected guests and cant do a 5 minute shopping on a busy working day...I was so impressed with the meat quality, we will for sure be using their delivery soon...

At Licious all meats and fish are cleaned in the most hygienic way, they are not frozen, thumbsup for that. The cut meats are vacuum sealed, labelled and temperature controlled, they even guarantee a 90-minute delivery time only if the product is in stock....

Abhay Hanjura Founder and CEO

Why did you start Licious? When we saw the consumer, who had to travel all the way to the market, spent a lot of money, and by the end of the day the consumer does not get the right quality and quantity of meat. as per his/her requirement, that's when I and my partner Vivek wanted to start licious. Our approach is practical, We wanted our consumer to get the best cut meats..Home Delivered..

We did not want to stop with just offering  cut meats...we also have whole new consumers today, who are looking for marinated meats...bachelors, working women, senior citizens and so on...who want to open the fridge pull out a box of our marinated meats. grill it and serve it  hot to their loved ones...

Currently in the marinated section we are offering Caribbean Chicken, Mustard Chicken, Adraki Tikka, Lamb Meat Balls with Jalapeños and Cheese, Rosemary and Garlic lamb chops, Peri Peri Chicken legs, The Lebanese chicken, which can be grilled on a tawa or oven with very little oil...none of our marinated meats or cut meats are frozen.

Chef Joe Manavalan

Chef Joe was our judge, and also helped with many tips at the cook out. Chef Joe's tip was about adding something acidic to whatever we cook to make it finger licking good example oranges, balsamic vinegar or lime.

Caribbean Chicken, Carolina Mustard Chicken, Peri Peri Chicken legs, Spicy Chicken Wings
The Lebanese chicken, Adraki Tikka,  Rosemary and Garlic lamb chops, Tandoori Chicken

Lamb Meat Balls with Jalapeños and Cheese, Country Captain Lamb..

Chicken Malai Tikka, Chicken Meatballs with Olives and Cheese, Chicken Tikka

After we got to know the team behind licious we started our cookout. My team consisted a tech blogger, who is also an avid food review writer, creative photographer/blogger, a pilot and then my dad none of these guys, had a clue what we are gonna cook...terrified with my team strength, I chose a simple shortcut no fuss recipe, and the guys need not do a thing...I chose prawns and pasta since the chef gave all the teams a task to cook mains with starch..Guess what! we were the first team to complete the dish under 10 minutes...

Garlic Butter Prawns with Ravioli: Hrish is pointing at the prawns which he did not clean...all I had to do was wash them and drain the excess water..it was pre-cleaned and packed by Licious..Shiju the photographer who never comes in front of cam is trying to stir the finely chopped garlic and chilies and pose for me...

Finally we got the dish togeather by finishing with cream herbs and chilly flakes it came togeather really well and tasted too good...I must thank Hrish who suggested we must add cream to finish our dish it was truly amazing very tasty and buttery..
